What Is The Best Gift You Have Ever Received?

perfect gift 247x300 What Is The Best Gift You Have Ever Received?Yesterday while searching for gift ideas for my friend I stumbled on a comment left by one of the readers (Jacinta O’Halloran ) that started simply:

“As I pulled the slender box from under the tree, my mind raced with possibilities. Ripping the paper away, I found a small box of coloring pencils. “Huh?” The attached note read “you fill my life with color, now go fill yours,” and it included a certificate to a local art class, something I’d been feeling too busy to sign up for myself. I burst into tears.”

I read it and almost felt like crying myself.
What a beautiful gift!

This story made me think of all the wonderful presents that I have received over the years and of those few that will stay in my heart forever.

I am sure that at some point, you too, have received a perfect gift that you will never forget.

There are an abundance of ways to answer this…the material way, the spiritual way or the natural way….(smile). The best material gift I ever received was anything my kids have made for me, that required their speical efforts and talents. The best spiritual gift I ever received was my bible (I bought for myself) and the best natural gift was when God gave to me my two children. There are no gifts on this earth with extreme monetary value(diamonds, trips, 'things') that could replace any of the above.

Countryporch shared an absolutely wonderful post! I was surprised that when I thought about what my favorite gift was, my thoughts did not focus on the actual object; my mind immediately went to the people that surrounded me. For example, when I was a young child, I wanted a trumpet. When I received it for Christmas, I have vivid images of the tree, the room where it was set up, my family all being there, unwrapping it, etc. But, I remember the look on my parents face and I feel the emotions that were in the room at the time.

Overall, my favorite gift that I have received is the gift of 'knowing how to appreciate'. I appreciate my parents for the gift of the trumpet, I appreciate my friends, my co-workers, and of course, my family.

    Be Well.
    Paul.

Thank you for your wonderful comments, Countryporch and Paul! You've taken the discussion to an absolutely new level.
Initially when I wrote the post, I was thinking about all the wonderful and original gifts that my family and friends have made for me and how great it felt to receive them. But you made me think of so many other gifts that we often take for granted, like people who love and inspire us, our friends, our good health, and even those seemingly unpleasant life lessons that help us grow and learn from our mistakes.

Life in itself is the biggest gift we could have ever received. Thank you for reminding me of that! :)

The best gift I have ever recieved is my eternal gift from God. He gave me Jesus who is my best friend in the whole wide world. I have gone through struggle after struggle in my life, however, I did not go through them alone. He will always give me the strength I need to succeed. Thank you for allowing me to share with you and everyone else the love of my life.

On my 17th birthday my big sister took me on a trip to the amazing city of Innsbruck (Austria) where we watched a theatre play called “Ladies Night”. We are from Vienna, so it wasn't too costly to get there. But still it was an unforgettable weekend in which we bonded as friends.

    Hello,
I guess every morning/ every day we wake up safe, healthy and possess the food for that day, we are receiving a gift. Reaching at such a wonderful (really wonderful-I love this site) site like this to read, to learn to share is another gift we receive. The question is, what is next? Diverse and immense are the gifts we receive, but what is it after we find/ receive them? How do we utilize them? What do we do with them? Knowing the answers to these questions is another gift. Omar.

The best gift I ever received is being BLESSED by GOD with the GIFT to dream and my dreams being meaningful. I lost my father(best friend) several yrs ago and he comes to me in my dreams. He hugs me, talks to me and he's always at peace. I've had this gift since I can remember, maybe (8yrs. old). Many times my dreams are simply visions, showing me things that will come to pass. If they're good dreams I accept them, if they're bad dreams I rebute them. I feel I have power in my dreams.

When I was little I didn't understand how I could dream of something and it actually came true. But since I know it's a gift from GOD I'm not afraid to dream anymore. It amazes pe4ople when I tell them I had a dream about them and it's actually a something going on in their life. They can't believe it.

Anyway, this is my best gift ever because it was given to me from GOD………

I hope someone can appreciate this..

    Have a blessed day……..
