What Are Your 5 Most Favorite Movies?

favorite movie 300x184 What Are Your 5 Most Favorite Movies? My best friend and I have a great tradition – every once in a while we get together and cook something exotic (ok, I confess, she does most of the cooking and I do basic work like peeling, cutting, and adding condiments). And then after we are done, we take our delicious gourmet dishes and start watching our favorite movies. Yesterday saw “Gone with the Wind” with Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. Even though I have seen this movie at least 20 times, I still enjoy it tremendously.

There are some movies that do not get old or boring no matter how many times you see them. I am sure that you too have a list of your favorite movies. What are they?

If you had to go and live on an uninhabited island what would be the 5 movies that you would take with you?

Let’s make a list of the all-time best movies! I am looking forward to reading your comments. And I am sure that the rest of the readers will find them helpful too.

I don't like movies that are disturbing or violent so here are some great films, most have a great message too:
Little shop of Horrors - Great music, funny, love conquers all!
Twelve angry men - Makes you realise tht you shouldn't jump to conclusions
It's a wonderful Life - Believe in yourself
About a Boy - Persistence pays off
Gone with the Wind - the ultimate romantic drama
Amilee - funny, quirky and she gets the guy
The Graduate - the soundtrack is brilliant, Dustin Hoffman at his best, funny and sad at the same time, just great.
I'm sure there are loads more, but these are my favourites

Jasmine, I've seen Avatar last week. I must say that it was better than I expected. I thought it would be all about special effects, but there is also a profound idea that makes you think about how mindlessly we destroy and abuse our mother nature.

  • WOW!!!. this is a difficult one for me... since I have the opportunity to see about one new movie per week here in ROCHESTER, NY where I currently live..

and because I like some many different movies..
my favorite movie has to be Independence Day.. because its hidden theme is that we all have the capability to rise above any adversity if we use our brains .. I watched this movie again and again when 911 happened... the next one is The Bucket List .. it makes me thank GOD everyday for what I've got here and its a continual inspiration to go for my BIG DREAMS AND MY GOALS. then there is The Blind Side ... another truly inspirational theme and based on an actual story ...
then there is Conversations With God based on the life of NEALE DONALD WALSCH.. and then there is IRON MAN.. based on the MARVEL comic book And there are more but that its for now . and that these may be changing.. because life is not static but dynamic and since we all are growing or changing we must continually evaluate our beliefs ..
