How Do You Deal with Little Annoying Habits of Your Beloved Ones?
My friend recently wrote to me on Facebook, complaining how much she is frustrated with her husband, because he never takes his shoes off when he comes home, even though she has asked him to do it a “million times”!
Is it the worst thing someone could ever do to you? Not really.
But to her it has been one of the primary fonts of all their fights and is a continuous frustration.
If you have been living together with another person for a long time, you start to notice those little annoying things that they do. I remember that my roommate in college always left her comb full of hair right next to the sink. It was just a tiny thing, but it would still irritate me.
She, on the other hand, would get really upset if I left my cup of tea sitting on the table all day (I like using one tea bag and just adding hot water to it several times). These insignificant things do not make another person less likable or less worthy, but they still harm our relationships and provoke conflicts.
How do you deal with those little annoying habits that people that you care about have?
Do you change your own attitude? Or do you persist until the other person stops doing whatever aggravates you? (more…)
