The One Question You Would Ask Your Mentor?

successful couple mentor 300x199 The One Question You Would Ask Your Mentor?Do you see yourself as a lifelong student? I do.

I have probably mentioned to you that I often attend seminars and lectures given by spiritual teachers, motivational speakers and other interesting people that I can learn from.

After every lecture a speaker always asks if anyone has any questions. And most of the time just a few people raise their hands. And half those who do, end up asking some complicated or provocative question that has absolutely no other purpose than to demonstrate the intelligence of the person who asks it. Surprising isn’t it?

500 hundred people have a life time opportunity to ask a guru or highly successful person anything they want and get a specific answer to a specific question that can help them grow, improve their relationships, take their business to the next level, and resolve some of the challenges that they are facing. But 98% of the auditorium would rather let the opportunity pass by than to speak up, have everyone’s eyes on them and risk improbable, but very disturbing public humiliation. Believe me, I am not preaching…

I, too, have this irrational fear when it comes to speaking in public. And sometimes this fear holds me back. But sometimes I get enough courage and raise my hand.

What about you? Do you feel timid when it comes to asking personal questions? Or do you freely ask about something that is bothering you or something you do not know?

If you had the opportunity to meet one of the wisest people in the world and talk to them, what question(s) would you ask?

Write them down in the comment section below. Someone might have just the right answer for you…

  • Larry Hudson, Thanks for your input. I know you're right. I guess I need to be more "thought disciplined". I am committing right now to make a consistent change in my thought patterns. Whenever a negative thought comes into my mind I will interrupt the pattern & turn the thought backwards. Make it the exact oppisite of what it tried to be.
They say it takes 21 days to form a new habbit - doing it consistently. That's the hardest part.

    Thanks.
  • This is for Ainee Beland,
In deciding what your purpose is notice in you conversations with other people what gets you really worked up, or angry or excited. Notice what you feel passionate about. You would probably feel very fulfilled by doing something in that area. Now, about your "owing & owing so much", and your idea about a possible business venture, but no capital to invest. I'm not sure about the rules here of contacting someone or putting business info on here, but I know of a business venture that could actually help you in both those areas. It's not a "get rich quick" thing, but it has REAL potential.
  • What steps did you take to get where you are? What was your best move? Your worst move?
  • Change your internal dialog and focus on what you WANT instead of what you don't want. If you believe that people don't want to hear what you say then you're right hence 'self sabotage' however the opposite is also true. You can create whichever reality you want the Choice is entirely yours

what is holding me back is the lack of knowledge to make money! If I had the money I would have the freedom to follow my dreams!

How do I get past double-mindedness? On the one hand, I know I can do it, I know I'm capable, I know it's possible. On the other hand, I'm afraid that I'll try my hardest but I'll never quite make it because maybe I'm not really capable after all. Because of this, I get smacked down very easily & it takes at least a week to get back up to where I get out & do things that will actually help my business grow. I also believe that people don't want to hear what I have to say. This is because of past experiences where people really won't listen to what I say. I feel like a "bruised reed" that gets broken too easily. I also do the "self sabbotage" thing all the time. I've been to several different kinds of counseling about this, but there always seems to be something that I just don't get! There is never the breakthrough I'm looking for.
  • My answer would be .... What do YOU think is holding you back from happiness as .... we all have within us the resources nescessary to make change.
  • CJ
the question I would ask them is: "Can you tell me what you think is holding me back from the happiness in my life"?
  • me too "how do i overcome my fear of failing and find some positive thinking?"
  • My question would depend on whom I am with and what is on my mind at that moment. Like for instance when I was @ the NEALE DONALD WALSCH retreat author of CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD) I had asked him a number of questions like how can I get in better touch with GOD MYSELF ....

But then when I am on the MIKE LITMAN calls (find him on the web his new program is called total coach)

I usually ask him questions about my website.

But when I had met him at a seminar in NJ last year I had brought down my entire print run of my first comic book 40 copies which he then had bought them all gave them away to people who were in attendance at the event so now I can brag that I had my first printing on my comic book sold out..

    LOVE
